The performance of epoxy floor paint varies greatly with the types of epoxy resin curing accelerators, mainly in the following aspects: (1) Improving the mechanical properties of epoxy resin coatings. The epoxy resin coating has high reactivity and high crosslinking density, so the coating has good corrosion resistance. But at the same time, there are some problems such as poor elasticity and brittleness, which can be improved by introducing curing agent with flexible segments, such as polyamide with long chain fatty acids. (2) improve the technological properties of epoxy coatings.
Epoxy resin coatings are often used in large-scale construction in the field. There are toxicity of volatiles and operability problems in humid and low temperature environment. In recent years, a variety of non-toxic or low toxic curing agents with excellent workability, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance have been developed at home and abroad, such as modified ketimide curing agents.
(3) improve the corrosion resistance of epoxy coatings.
The corrosion resistance of different epoxy curing systems is also quite different. The epoxy resin cured with amine curing agent has good alkali resistance and poor acid resistance. The tertiary amine structure formed after curing is easy to react with acid to form tertiary ammonium salt. On the contrary, the epoxy resin cured with anhydride curing agent has good acid resistance and poor alkali resistance. The ester group formed after curing reacts irreversibly under alkaline conditions.
(4) improve the temperature resistance of epoxy coatings.
The thermal deformation temperature of epoxy resin cured with aliphatic amine curing agent is low, usually only 70 ~ 80 C. The suitable aromatic curing agent or anhydride curing agent can raise the hot deformation temperature to about 150 C, but the latter two kinds of curing agent should be cured under heating condition.
(5) improve the dielectric properties of epoxy coatings.
When epoxy resin is used in insulating coatings, the modified copolymer of trimellitic anhydride can be selected as curing agent, which can obviously improve the heat resistance and dielectric properties of the coatings.
