Whether in the hot summer or in the cold winter, as long as we receive an order for epoxy floor, our engineering staff must immediately put into work. Some customers will also require construction during holidays. Sometimes, overtime is necessary for the rush hour. So the engineering department is the most difficult group of our floor companies. Not only that, the dust produced in the construction process will have a certain impact on the human body, then, what protective measures can be taken to reduce the harm of dust to the body? In the process of painting epoxy floors, the sources of dust mainly have three aspects, namely, coating grinding, mechanical derusting, and powder coatings.
1. Coating grinding
Before the construction of epoxy floors, the plain ground should be grinded, and after each process is completed, the curing process needs to be grinded and coated to continue the next process. The particle size of the dust produced by polishing treatment is relatively small, the suspension time in the air is long, and it is easy to inhale into the body. Fine particles will enter the pulmonary bubble, which is harmful to the human body.
2, mechanical rust removal
Last year we did epoxy floor on the steel platform of a factory in Nantong. In order to enhance the adhesion of epoxy resin layer to steel plate, the metal oxide scale on the steel plate should be removed first; some concrete floor dirt and old floor coating also need to be removed first. Tool rust removal, sand blasting, shot blasting and other construction methods will be used in the construction of the ground rust removal. These construction methods will produce a lot of dust. At the same time, the abrasion of grinding discs in the process of mechanical use also produces dust of abrasive particles.
In order to reduce the influence of silica dust produced by abrasive, the content of silica in abrasive is generally controlled. It is forbidden to use more than 70% quartz sand when blasting.
3. Powder coatings
The particle diameters of powder coatings are mostly 10-90 fallacies, of which 60-70% are 30-40 fallacies. This kind of dust is most harmful to the operators in the powder spraying room. The hazards of dust to human body are related to the particle diameter. The dust with a particle diameter of 50 fallacies can be almost completely blocked in the nose, throat, trachea and bronchi, 10-15 fallacies can be blocked in the upper respiratory tract, and 5-10 fallacies can reach the lung.
It seems that the hazards of dust to the construction personnel of epoxy floor should arouse our concern. What are the safety precautions?
1. Choose suitable epoxy floor materials and construction methods.
This is the most effective measure to eliminate or reduce dust. Mainly include: the production of ingredients as far as possible to achieve mechanization, as far as possible to use chemical methods of rust removal; must be mechanical rust removal, as far as possible to choose wet operation.
2. Prevent dust dispersion.
Many measures can be adopted, such as ventilation and dust removal. For the builder, should wear dust masks, oxygen helmet and work clothes and other protective equipment to protect, as far as possible to reduce the hazards of dust.
Although the construction environment is bad, but we have taken some protective measures, the harm can be minimized, in this way, both to ensure the smooth completion of the epoxy floor, but also to ensure the health of the construction personnel.
