The shielding epoxy floor varnish primer should have excellent wet adhesion, and the epoxy floor varnish primer should penetrate into the tiny cracks on the surface of the epoxy floor thoroughly. Improving the wet adhesion of epoxy floor paint film can focus on the following aspects. The surface of the epoxy floor must be cleaned before painting, and any oil and salt must be removed. The surface of epoxy flooring is best treated to form phosphate film, followed by electrophoretic primer. Wet adhesion requires that the epoxy floor paint coating not only strongly adsorbs on the surface of the workpiece, but also is not adsorbed by hydrolysis when water penetrates the paint film. Baking epoxy floor varnish primers usually have better corrosion resistance, because at higher temperatures, resin molecules have more opportunities to orient on the surface of steel. Amino group can promote wet adhesion and is not easy to be squeezed out by water on the surface of steel. Phosphoric acid vinegar can also promote wet adhesion, and epoxy resin vinegar phosphate can improve the adhesion of floor paint film.
The resin has good saponification resistance. OH-, which is produced by oxygen-absorbing corrosion at the cathode, can even reach a pH of 14. It catalyzes hydrolysis (saponification) of cool groups and reduces the wet adhesion of the paint film. The phthalamine group has better hydrolysis (saponification) resistance than the vinegar group. Epoxy resin has good wet adhesion and saponification resistance. Epoxy resin primer shows greater saponification resistance than alkyd primer. Epoxy monoamine and epoxy/phenolic primer have good corrosion resistance, but epoxy/phenolic primer needs high temperature curing.
Residual water-soluble components should be avoided in epoxy floor paint film, otherwise it is easy to cause foaming of epoxy floor paint film. If the residual solvent of epoxy floor paint film has hydrophilic solvent, the solvent is not compatible with the dry film of the floor paint, which is retained as the separation phase, resulting in foaming of the epoxy floor paint film. Zinc oxide should not be used in primer. Zinc oxide reacts with water and carbon dioxide to form zinc hydroxide and zinc carbonate which are slightly soluble in water, resulting in blistering of floor paint film. Passivation pigments such as zinc chrome yellow can not work unless they are slightly soluble in water, so their presence in floor paint film can lead to blistering.
