The compatibility between epoxy curing agent and epoxy resin is improved, and the stability of waterborne epoxy resin emulsion after dispersion is better. The compatibility between them is better, and the epoxy curing agent is easier to diffuse inside the epoxy resin particles, which is conducive to the curing reaction.
Principle of Waterborne Epoxy Floor
Two-component reactive coatings have a problem of application period. Because the curing mechanism of waterborne epoxy resin system is different from that of solvent epoxy resin system, the criteria for judging the application life are also different.
For solvent-based epoxy resin system, the viscosities of the system increase with the shelf time. Therefore, the applicable period of the system can be expressed by the change of viscosities with time, that is, from mixing two components to increasing the viscosities of the system to the time when the system can not be constructed.
But for waterborne epoxy resin system, the viscosity of the system can not be determined with time. The epoxy resin emulsion and the corresponding varnish will show thixotropy and pseudoplasticity, which belong to the typical water dispersive system.
After mixing two components of waterborne epoxy resin coatings, the change of system viscosity is more complex. The viscosity of some systems increases gradually with the prolongation of shelf time, while the viscosity of some systems decreases rapidly after mixing two components, and remains basically unchanged for a long time.
