The principle of using alkali to treat the grease on the surface of epoxy floor paint is to remove the grease by saponification and emulsification of the grease. Generally, brushes, rags and cotton yarns are used to clean the degreased surface with alkali solution. The essential conditions for alkali removal from oil contamination on floor paint film are: dissolving grease, forming higher alkalinity, dispersing colloidal substances, easy washing, good chemical stability, heat resistance, non-toxicity, low corrosiveness, etc. Commonly used materials are: sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, silicates, phosphates.
The basic steps of alkali solution cleaning oil contamination on epoxy floor paint film are: pre-degreasing (if the oil contamination on the surface is too thick, this step should be adopted)alkali solution degreasing_first water washing_second water washing_drying. According to the different treatment objects and the degree of oil pollution, various cleaning methods can be adopted. The main method used on the ground is wiping. Oil removal is usually the first process of surface treatment, for some perennial soaked oily ground, sometimes after oil removal, there will still be oil from below, but also need to be removed again or more times.
When removing oil from ground alkali liquor, brush, cloth and cotton yarn are dipped in alkali liquor or or mixed with alkaline degreaser to clean the oily surface. This method is manual operation with low efficiency and poor working conditions, but it does not need special equipment, low cost and great flexibility.
The factors affecting the effect of alkali cleaning on the surface of floor paint are as follows:
1. Alkali concentration. The high concentration of alkali solution can accelerate saponification reaction, reduce the surface tension between oil stain and solution, and is conducive to degreasing. The alkaline degreasing agent containing surfactant is better than alkaline degreasing agent alone, which indicates that the composition and use of alkaline degreasing agent have great influence on degreasing.
2. Degreasing temperature. Increasing temperature can soften oil contamination, and is conducive to infiltration and emulsification. Therefore, oil removal efficiency can be improved. But too high a temperature will consume energy sources and pollute the air.
3. Mechanical action. The mechanical action can make the surface of the coating and degreasing liquid renew continuously, and accelerate the saponification and emulsification process of the grease.
4. Washing quality. After the base surface is cleaned and degreased by alkali liquor, alkaline detergent is bound to remain on the surface, and their floor paint coatings are harmful. The alkali and salt in the cleaning agent absorbed moisture, which was one of the main reasons for the decrease of adhesion and foaming of the coating.
