Epoxy floor paint is mainly composed of epoxy resin and curing agent. It is a product of high value, high quality and high requirement. It has excellent physical characteristics such as wear resistance, stamping resistance, washing resistance and so on. It is not easy to produce cracks in use and easy to wash and maintain. Epoxy resin has excellent electrical insulation properties and can be used for casting sealing and impregnating paint. Epoxy resin has many advantages, but there are also shortcomings, its light aging is poor. Epoxy resin contains aromatic ether bonds. The film is easy to degrade and break chains after being irradiated by sunlight (ultraviolet), so its outdoor weather resistance is poor. Therefore, the usual bisphenol A epoxy resin is not resistant to outdoor sunlight, and the paint film is liable to lose light and discoloration, and then powdered, so it is not suitable for outdoor topcoat. I. Epoxy Resin
Epoxy floor paint has good toughness, hardness and wear resistance. It mainly comes from epoxy resin, a kind of material in floor paint.
Epoxy resin has only alkyl and ether bonds, no ester bonds, so alkali resistance is particularly prominent, general oil or alkyd rust-proof primer. When corroded, the cathode is alkaline and will be destroyed by saponification. Epoxy floor paint material is alkali-resistant and has good adhesion, so it can be widely used as anticorrosive primer. Because of the three-dimensional network structure of epoxy floor coating after curing, it can also resist oil impregnation, and can also be widely used for anti-corrosion of tank, oil tanker, integral fuel tank lining of aircraft, etc.
Compared with thermosetting phenolic resin coatings, epoxy floor paint materials contain aromatic rings and are hard, with ether bonds to facilitate the rotation of molecular chains, and have certain toughness, unlike phenolic resin, which is very brittle (because its crosslinking spacing is shorter than that of epoxy resin). The longer the crosslinking distance of epoxy resin is, the easier the internal rotation is. The larger the molecular weight of epoxy resin, the larger the crosslinking distance is.
Epoxy resin has a certain wetting force on wet surface. Especially when polyamide resin is used as curing agent, it can be made into underwater construction coatings, which can squeeze out the water on the surface of objects, and can be used for emergency repair of underwater structures and anti-corrosion construction of underwater structures.
Epoxy resin has low molecular weight and can be used with various curing agents to produce solvent-free, high solid powder coatings and waterborne epoxy floor coatings, which meet the requirements of environmental protection and can obtain thick film coatings.
Epoxy resin contains two kinds of active groups, epoxy group and hydroxyl group. It can cooperate with polyamines, polyamide resin, phenolic resin, amino resin, polyisocyanate and so on to make a variety of coatings, which can be dried at room temperature or baked at high temperature to meet different construction requirements.
2. Curing agent
Several commonly used commercial curing agents: 593 curing agent, T31 curing agent, 651 curing agent, 810 curing agent, ketoimide curing agent, NX-2040 curing agent.
The effects of various curing agents on the performance of epoxy floor paint are mainly reflected in film hardness, gel time and film drying time. Good curing agent will make the floor paint with certain hardness, and has a longer operation time and a faster drying time, so that a barrel of floor paint can be easily configured to complete the construction in operation time. Then it can be quickly dried and immediately build second processes (generally gel time is less than 30 minutes, and the coating is dry within 4 hours).
The types of curing agents are mainly classified into amine and resin curing agents. Among the amine curing agents, alicyclic amines and their additives have light colour, good leveling, high gloss, no whitening and no induction period, but they are vitrified.

They are mainly used as curing agents for solvent-free epoxy floor coatings. Polysulfur rubber, long chain alkyl glycidyl ether, elastic polyurethane and other toughening agents need to be added to toughen them.
