There are three turning points in the development of epoxy floor coatings industry: green environmental protection coatings, green environmental protection engineering and green environmental protection services, referred to as "three green environmental protection". Epoxy resin coatings, especially floor coatings, are the preferred products of "three green environmental protection" in many architectural applications. Since the early 1990s, the developed countries in the world have carried out a "green revolution", which has promoted the development of the paint industry to a "green" paint direction. Taking industrial anticorrosive coatings as an example, in North America, conventional solvent-based coatings accounted for 49% in 1992 and decreased to 26% in 2000. Waterborne coatings, high solid coatings, light curing coatings and powder coatings increased from 51% in 1992 to 74% in 2002. In Europe, conventional solvent-based coatings will decrease from 49% in 1992 to 27% in 2002, while water-based coatings, high solid coatings, light curing coatings and powder coatings will increase from 51% in 1992 to 73% in 2002. Heavy duty anticorrosive coatings are advancing in the direction of high performance, high efficiency, low energy consumption and low pollution. The key to the development of heavy-duty anticorrosive coatings is the development of good high-anticorrosive resins, new pigments and fillers. Serious surface cleaning of the coating matrix is the basis for the service life of heavy-duty anticorrosive coatings. Scientific painting design requirements, coating matching schemes, painting construction technology, strict quality inspection and maintenance management are the guarantee of the anticorrosive effect of heavy-duty anticorrosive coatings.
Because of its physical and mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and bonding stability, epoxy floor has been widely used in chemical industry, electronics, light industry, aviation, machinery, transportation, automobile and other industrial fields, and plays an extremely important role in the development of national economy. In the process of China's entry into the middle developed countries in the future, their application will be far larger than the current scale.
Experts from China Epoxy Resin Industry Association said that epoxy resin coatings and polyurethane coatings are commonly used in industrial floor coatings. These two kinds of coatings have good chemical resistance, wear resistance and mechanical impact resistance. However, because cement floor is a porous material which is easy to absorb moisture, polyurethane with poor wet tolerance can easily cause defects such as interlayer peeling and bubbles during construction, such as bonding and resistance. The abrasiveness is not as good as that of epoxy floor coatings.
