Primer is the most important step in the construction process of epoxy floor paint. Only when this step is completed, can the next step be continued on the base surface. Therefore, the general requirements for primers used for floor coating are: good adhesion with the base material; good mechanical strength; good protective performance and no adverse side effects on the base material; good foundation for future coatings, can not contain the components that cause defects by infiltrating into the upper coating film; and better workability and dryness. When applying primer, attention should be paid to the timely application of primer after surface treatment in strict accordance with the stipulated time. It is also necessary to apply a paint within the specified time range after the primer is dried according to the conditions prescribed by the primer varieties. Early coating may lead to underbiting and difficulty in solvent evaporation in primer, which may lead to prolonged drying time of paint film, such as poor curing, bubbling, etc. Late coating may lead to poor adhesion between layers, and late coating may easily affect the apparent quality due to dust accumulation or other pollution. In order to increase the adhesion between the next coating and the primer, the primer can be polished before coating.
Roller coating, brushing and spraying are commonly used for primer coating. Brushing construction efficiency is low, generally in the corner construction. The most commonly used is roll coating, high efficiency. 封闭底漆施工：
Closed primer construction:
Brush, roll or spray method is used to construct one or two primers for closed floor paint. The interval between the two primers is more than 8 hours, but not more than 48 hours. For the old ground, a primer should be added. During primer construction, attention should be paid to uniform coating, no obvious thickness difference of coating film, to prevent leakage of coating. Pay attention to the accumulation of surplus materials in roller coating construction. When the primer is incompletely sealed (missing coating), there will be some phenomena such as weak adhesion and blistering of the coating film.
1. The thickness of primer film is determined according to the type of primer. Attention should be paid to its control. There is no floating dust and loose sand on the surface.
2. The primer containing pigments and fillers should be stirred evenly before use and during use.
3. Pay attention to the standard of drying. When the primer is coated with paint containing strong solvents, the primer must be thoroughly dried to avoid primer biting and other paint diseases.
4. To increase the adhesion between the next coating and the primer, the primer can be polished before coating.
5. Primer should be coated in time after surface treatment. Also, according to the conditions specified by the primer varieties, a coat should be applied within the prescribed time range after the primer is dried. Primer dilution shall be in accordance with the instructions and the construction requirements of epoxy floor paint, and the proportion shall be well controlled, and excessive dilution shall be strictly prohibited.
It should be carried out under the condition that the foundation is fully dry and free of foreign matter, and the ground must be cleaned up. The ground that does not meet the requirements should be reported to the project manager in time.
After opening the barrel, the epoxy floor paint material should be fully stirred and evenly used.
First brush the corners and the parts which are not easy to stick, then carry out large-scale construction from top to bottom, and brush the epoxy floor paint primer with a brush on the floor which is not easy to absorb materials.
When painting, the barrel must be equipped with rollers, and the barrel and brush dipping materials must be licked on the rollers before construction can be carried out.
If there is brush or stick hair on the wall, it should be dealt with in time.
Due to the rapid volatilization of solvents, if the bottom coating becomes thicker in the construction process, the solvents can be added appropriately, but in general, this method is not recommended.
Check the ground for leakage and repair it.
Repainting time is usually more than 6-8 hours.
The coating rate of epoxy floor paint meets the requirement of construction effect, and no leakage, drop and obvious rubbing are allowed to make the stick coating uniform. If there is a big difference between the actual coating rate and the coating rate, the project manager should be informed.
In the process of epoxy floor paint construction, the primer is the most important point. Only when the base is sealed, can the next painting be carried out. If the primer is not done well, even if the later process is done well, it will lose a lot.

The pits in cement base are filled with commercial epoxy putty or epoxy mortar with primer and fine quartz sand, and polished flat after solidification.
Medium coating construction:
For thick film coatings, the medium coatings can be applied with trowel. Due to the use of more quartz sand in coatings, there will be no obvious scraper marks on the coatings after scratching, but if the amount of quartz sand is too large, the scratch should be rolled once. If the coating interval is more than 48 hours, the next coatings should be polished to ensure the interlayer cohesion.
Surface coating construction:
According to the types of epoxy wear-resistant floor coatings, surface coatings can be applied by brushing or scraping. For thick film coatings, mix the two components evenly according to the proportion requirement, and then use 1 mm scraper to scrape the coatings after ripening. When scraping, we should try our best to keep the thick film uniform, no leakage and no obvious surplus. When scraping, the moving speed of the scraper should be uniform, and the angle between the scraper and the ground plane should be about 30 degrees, so as to ensure the film thickness. The number of scraping paths depends on the thickness requirement. Ordinary epoxy coatings can be applied by brushing method. The interval between the two coatings should be more than 18 hours, but not more than 48 hours. The coatings should be used up as soon as possible to prevent the increase of the viscosity of the coatings and the difficulty of discharging the bubbles in the coatings.
Epoxy Floor Maintenance:
After the surface coating is finished and solidified completely, it should be applied for more than 24 hours before it can be applied, and then it can be re-pressed after 72 hours. (The opening time at low temperature should be prolonged moderately, whichever temperature is 25 C.)
