In the hearth center of heating hot blast stove, ash in fuel mostly melts into liquid or softens at such high temperature. With the decrease of temperature, ash will change from liquid to softened state and then to solid state. If the ash is still softening when it meets the heating surface, it will become coking because it is cooled and bonded to the heating surface. The coking of heating hot blast stove not only blocked the slag ditch, but also had to reduce the load. If all the water wall coking was caused, only the stoppage of the stove for manual coke cleaning resulted in the decrease of work efficiency.
So how should we deal with the coking of heating stoves?
(1) To change the fusing point characteristics of fuel ash and blend different kinds of coal.
(2) 调整煤粉细度： 调整分离器挡板开度， 使煤粉细度在经济合理的范围内（R90＝20～25） ，防止煤粉变粗和不均匀。
(2) Adjust the fineness of pulverized coal: adjust the baffle opening of separator to make the fineness of pulverized coal within an economical and reasonable range (R90=20-25), to prevent the coarsening and uneven pulverized coal.
(3) Optimizing the air distribution mode and organizing reasonable and good aerodynamic field in the furnace are the preconditions to prevent coking. Before the start-up of the unit, the Cold Aerodynamic Field test was carried out on the hot blast stove. Through the test, the reasonable air distribution mode of the burner and the optimum position of the inner and outer air-conditioning baffles were found out, so that the good aerodynamic conditions could be organized in the furnace and the safe, stable and economic operation of the hot blast stove could be ensured.
